Back to a garden you can actually use
Old furniture, bags of rubbish, broken fencing and years of green waste — loaded, taken away and sorted properly, with nothing left behind but a swept space.
- Carried out through the house or the side access
- Green waste kept separate so it can be composted
- Everything sorted for reuse and recycling
- The space swept when we leave
If your rubbish is fly-tipped, it can come back to you
The law puts a duty of care on anyone who hands waste over — householders included. If you give it to someone who is not a registered waste carrier and it ends up dumped, you can be fined, even though you paid them to take it away.
- Ask for the carrier’s registration number before they take anything
- Check it on the Environment Agency public register — it takes a minute
- Be wary of cash-only prices from someone with no business name or paperwork
- Businesses need a waste transfer note for every collection
Clean Slates Clearance
Registered waste carrier
Registered with the Environment Agency to carry waste in England. Ask for our registration before we start — we would rather you checked.

Reuse first
Furniture and household items in good condition go to reuse and charity outlets, where they will accept them.
Then recycling
Metal, wood, cardboard, green waste, rubble and electricals are separated and sent for recycling.
Specialist items
Fridges, freezers, TVs and upholstered seating go to facilities licensed to deal with them.
Disposal last
Only what is left goes for licensed disposal — with a waste transfer note if you need one.
Honest about reuse: charity shops are selective. Upholstered furniture needs its fire safety label, and many will not take mattresses or electricals. We will tell you realistically what is likely to find a new home.
Gone, without you lifting a thing

Get a fixed price
Priced on how much there is and what it is. The price we agree is the price, unless you ask us to take more.
We clear it
We carry everything out from wherever it is — loft, cellar, back garden, third floor — and load it ourselves.
Swept and sorted
The space is left swept, the waste is sorted for reuse and recycling, and the paperwork is there if you need it.
Priced on how much we take
Clearance is priced by volume, so the quickest way to a price is a few photos. Every quote is free and fixed before we start.
Single items
A sofa, a mattress, a fridge, a few bags.
- Carried out from wherever it is
- Specialist items priced individually
Part van load
Around a room’s worth — a garage corner or a garden tidy-up.
- Quarter and half loads
- Mixed household rubbish
- Loaded by us
Full van load
A big clear-out, a full garage or a small house.
- One price for the load
- Several loads priced together
- Sorted for recycling
Whole property
Houses, flats and offices, priced after a visit or a video call.
- Fixed price for the whole job
- Personal items set aside
- Left swept
What changes the price: how much there is; how heavy it is (soil, rubble and hardcore weigh far more than they look); items that cost more to dispose of legally, such as mattresses, fridges and freezers, sofas and armchairs, TVs and tyres; and access — long carries, stairs without a lift, or London parking restrictions.
What we cannot take: asbestos (it needs a licensed removal contractor), clinical or medical waste, chemicals, solvents and liquid paint, gas bottles, fuel, and anything explosive. If you are not sure, send a photo — and if it is something we cannot take, we will tell you who can.

Things people ask before booking
Do I need to bring everything outside?
No. We carry it out from wherever it is — lofts, cellars, upstairs flats, back gardens — and load the van ourselves. That is included in the price.
Do I need to be there?
Not necessarily. For house, garage and loft clearances plenty of people meet us at the start or leave us a key, and we send photos when we are done. We agree beforehand exactly what is going and what is staying.
How soon can you come?
It depends on the week and the size of the job, but smaller collections can often be fitted in quickly. Tell us when you need it gone and we will be straight with you about when we can do it.
Are you a registered waste carrier?
Yes. Clean Slates Clearance is registered with the Environment Agency as a waste carrier. Whoever takes your waste, ask for their number and check it on the public register — if waste is fly-tipped, it can come back to the person who handed it over.
What happens to everything you take?
Reuse first where things are in good enough condition, then recycling — metal, wood, cardboard, green waste, rubble and electricals are separated. Only what is left goes for licensed disposal.
Do you provide a waste transfer note?
Yes. Businesses need one for every collection and always get one. For household clearances we can provide one too if you would like a record.
What can you not take?
Asbestos, clinical waste, chemicals, solvents, liquid paint, gas bottles and fuel. Your local household waste recycling centre can often take small amounts of paint and household chemicals, and asbestos needs a licensed contractor. If in doubt, send us a photo.
