Heavy, bulky and awkward — sorted properly
Garden and building waste is heavier than it looks, and it has to be separated before it can be recycled. We load it, keep apart the materials that need keeping apart, and take each to the right place.

From overgrown and full to clear
Whether it is a garden that has been used as a dumping ground for years or the leftovers of a landscaping job, it all gets loaded, separated and taken to the right place.
- Carried out through the house or the side access
- Green waste kept separate so it can be composted
- Everything sorted for reuse and recycling
- The space swept when we leave
Mixed waste is harder to recycle
Plasterboard
Gypsum has to be kept apart from general and green waste, so it is separated from the moment it is loaded.
Green waste
Soil, stones and plastic mixed in with garden waste stop it being composted, so we keep it clean.
Rubble and hardcore
Clean rubble can be crushed and reused, which is better than landfill and usually cheaper.
Priced on volume and weight
Soil and rubble weigh several times more than garden waste for the same space in the van, so heavy loads are priced on weight as well as volume. Send a photo and a rough idea of how much there is.
Garden clearance
Cuttings, branches, turf and old garden furniture.
- Loaded from the garden
- Green waste kept clean
Bulk bags
Builders’ bags collected from the drive or the pavement.
- Priced per bag
- Ask about regular collections
Rubble and hardcore
Bricks, concrete, tiles and hardcore.
- Priced on weight
- Sent for recycling
For builders and landscapers: if you are producing waste on site every week, ask about regular collections. You get a waste transfer note for every load, and there is no skip sitting on your client’s drive.
Loaded, separated, gone
Send a photo
Show us the pile, the bags or the garden, and tell us roughly what it is.
Fixed price
Priced on how much there is and how heavy it is.
Loaded and separated
We load it ourselves and keep apart the materials that need to be.
To the right place
Green waste for composting, rubble for recycling, plasterboard to the right facility.
What we cannot take: asbestos (it needs a licensed removal contractor), clinical or medical waste, chemicals, solvents and liquid paint, gas bottles, fuel, and anything explosive. If you are not sure, send a photo — and if it is something we cannot take, we will tell you who can.
Finished the garden or the build?
Clean Slates Cleaning can jet wash the new patio or driveway, or do the final builders’ clean inside.
Garden and builders’ waste questions
Do I need a skip permit?
No. We load straight into the van, so nothing is left on the road and there is no permit to arrange.
Why do soil and rubble cost more?
They are far heavier than they look — a bag of soil weighs many times what the same bag of hedge cuttings does — and disposal is charged by weight. We price it honestly up front rather than surprising you on the day.
Can you take plasterboard?
Yes, as long as it is kept separate. Gypsum cannot be mixed in with general or green waste, so tell us it is there and we will load it on its own.
Can you take down and remove an old shed?
Yes. Timber sheds, fencing and decking can be dismantled and taken away. Tell us if there is anything inside — and if an old shed or garage roof might contain asbestos, that needs a licensed contractor before we can touch it.
Do you collect bulk bags?
Yes. Leave them somewhere we can reach and load, and we will collect them. Ask about regular collections if you are working on a longer job.
